Animals is the fifth skill (assuming read left to right) in the French language tree. It has four different lessons. It teaches you the names of many different animals that you would see in a zoo, in the park, in a forest or in an ocean.


Guessing GenderEdit

Note: This is not an exhaustive list, and exceptions do exist!

Masculine Feminine
-tre, -ble, -cle, -one, -ème, -ège, -age, -isme, -é, -de, -ste, -me, -eur

Non-abstract objects ending in -e, -ion, -son, -té, ade, -nde, -ude

Feminine AnimalsEdit

If an animal has a masculine gender, but you are specifically talking about a female animal, then adding an -e is commonly sufficient.

Ex: le chien, la chienne
