Verbs: Modal is the thirty-fifth (assuming read left to right) skill in the French language tree. It has two lessons and teaches the present tense conjugation for a couple of the modal verbs.
Grammar Notes[]
Modal verbs, unlike many other verbs in French, do not require the addition of de, à, or par in order to add additional verbs. The second verb in this case is always in the infinitive (non-conjugated form):
- Je peux boire. = I can drink.
- Il veut parler. = he wants to talk.
They are also all irregular, so their conjugations will have to be memorized:

* when je peux would be inverted for any reason, use puis-je instead:
- Puis-je vous aider? = Can I help you?
