Dative Pronouns is the thirty-third (assuming left to right) skill in the German language tree. In these three lessons, the learner of German is introduced to the pronouns of the dative case, some of which are already known (i.e. mir).
Grammar notes
Edit
Many words change in the dative case, and pronouns are no exception. The previous two cases and their dative equivalents are in the table below:
Nominative | Accusative | Dative |
---|---|---|
ich | mich | mir |
du | dich | dir |
er | ihn | ihm |
sie | sie | ihr |
es | es | ihm |
wir | uns | uns |
ihr | euch | euch |
sie | sie | ihnen |
Sie | Sie | Ihnen |
The dative case also creates change for the rest of the pronouns mein, dein, etc. These words will follow the same pattern for ein, which are given here.
The demonstrative pronoun for "that", der also will change to its dative counterpart, as shown on the same page, with the exception of the plural dative, which is actually denen.
