The Accusative is the twelfth (assuming left to right) skill in the language tree for Russian. In this skill, which has four lessons, the student of Russian learns another case: The accusative case!

Grammar notes[]

Accusative[]

Use the accusative case if you have a direct object in your sentence.

Example: Я вижу воду. I see water.

Forming the Accusative[]

The accusative only changes the endings of feminine nouns (ending in -а/-я) to -у/-ю and masculine animate nouns (aka. living things) to -а/-я.

I want/Give me[]

"I want please" (я хочу пожалуйста) is completely polite and okay in Russian. "Want" in Russian doesn't carry the negative connotations that it has in English. The same principle applies to "Give me, please." (Дайте мне пожалуйста).
