Verbs: Present 1 is the tenth (assuming read left to right) skill in the Spanish language tree. It teaches how to conjugate the two types of regular verbs (-er and -ar) and some common irregular verbs through three lessons.
Grammar Notes[]
Verb Conjugation[]
To conjugate a regular verb, you must take off the last part of the verb (-er, -ir, -ar) and add an ending. Note that the -ir verbs are mostly irregular and do not follow these rules; it is best to learn them by heart:
Person | -er ending | -er example: correr | -ar ending | -ar example: hablar |
---|---|---|---|---|
I (yo) | -o | corro | -o | hablo |
you (tú) | -es | corres | -as | hablas |
you (usted) | -e | corre | -a | habla |
he/she (él/ella) | -e | corre | -a | habla |
we (nosotros/nosotras) | -emos | corremos | -amos | hablamos |
you (vosotros/vosotras) | -éis | corréis | -áis | habláis |
you (ustedes) | -en | corren | -an | hablan |
they (ellos/ellas) | -en | corren | -an | hablan |
