In Swahili, all forms of the verb "to be" are denoted with ni. The negative form is si.

Mimi ni Mchina = I am Chinese.
Sisi ni Mmamerekani = We are American.
Yeye si Mholanzi = She is not Dutch.
Wao si Mwafrika = They are not African.
